For reference, GPSA’s counterpart ASUNM currently has the following logo. This might be a starting point for what has worked for student groups in the past.

I can see nothing about ASUNM’s logo that adheres to UNM’s Identity Standards. So are we trying to follow UNM’s guidelines or not?
The goal of this re-design is to capture the essence of both GPSA and UNM (hence their design standards). However, as a student organization we do not HAVE to stay within UNM’s design standards, as long as we do not use trademarked logos. Other than that we WANT people to be creative. =]
